Hello, I'm Marie Labelle.
I'm the Founder and CEO of Diva CEOs, a global boutique consulting/coaching agency.
Beyond the label of entrepreneur, I proudly wear the hats of mother, wife, animal rescuer, and world traveler.
Society often tries to confine us within predefined boxes, but breaking free from these confines is where our true potential lies. Let's liberate ourselves from societal expectations and embrace the fulfilling life we deserve.
My Story
This is how I took my power back, got back in the driver's seat of my life, and went on to build my online empire.
My very first brush with business started at a very young age. My father was an entrepreneur at heart always searching for his next big gig. One venture he started back in the 60s was a fruits and vegetables wholesale business. He would take me on his run from time to time and allowed me to sell goods for him. I loved selling, I loved negotiating, and I got hooked pretty quickly. The money making gene was in my blood.
Zig Ziglar once said "you are born a salesman".
This statement rings true in my case... I mean I was only FIVE!
I started my career as a salesman for Xerox, a prestigious 500 Fortune company. I loved everything about that job (minus the 200 daily cold calls, and endless paperwork). I was making good money, but after 10 years, making good money was not satisfying me anymore.
I wanted out of corporate. Out of the rat race. I wanted more.
So, I started my own business!
Fast forward to that infamous day in 2012... My dark night of the soul. It hit me like a ton of bricks. And in my car of all places.
A panic attack so strong, it engulfed me, leaving me paralyzed from head to toes. Scared to drive my car to my listing appointment (I was a realtor at the time), I turned back and somehow made it home.
I thought I was dying.
Turns out what I thought was a heart attack was only a panic attack. Thanks GOD right... Not so fast!
I had also developped PTSD.
The byproduct of caring for my mom. She had 6 months to live. There is no way I was going to send her to a paliative care unit. She transitioned with me by her side.
By then, the panic attacks were on the daily, and to boot I had now developed agoraphobia.
What was the lesson in that... I thought to myself?
I now know the answer to that question.
Help others. Be in service to others.
